I am honored to introduce to you one of the Top 10 CNN Heroes, a
Ugandan, Mr. Derreck Kayongo. Mr. Derreck has been nominated
for this award because of his Global Soap Project that he founded to make
a difference in the lives of disadvantaged people throughout the
world.
The Global Soap Project recovers discarded soap from hotels, reprocesses it into new bars and distributes it to vulnerable populations throughout the world. You can read more about the Global Soap project at: http://www.globalsoap.org
Derreck as a Top 10 Finalist for the 2011 CNN Hero Award needs your support to be the finalist to receive $250,000 for his wonderful project. CNN's Anderson Cooper will announce the winner on December 11th.
Talking on the phone with Mr. Kayongo I learnt that he wants to share his success of making a difference with you. If he wins, his
win will help more disadvantaged people but it will also inspire a lot of people like him who have similar backgrounds and have the potential to do big things. His win will do a lot to change the negative perception some people may have about people living in the diaspora. This win will also be great for Uganda our motherland. That is why it is important that we all put in an effort to make it happen by voting and sharing this information with friends.
