The Ugandan Community in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex is organized under the Ugandan American Association of Greater Dallas/Forth (UAA Greater DFW); a 501 (c) non profit organization that has been in existence for more than 20 years and that played a crucial role in the formation of Ugandan North American Association (UNAA) hosting the first UNAA Convention in Dallas in 1990 with more than half the original UNAA Leadership coming from Dallas.
Always a vibrant organization with a great sense of community and togetherness; in July 2009 the Ugandan Community gathered to elect the youngest cabinet in the organization's history in the most well attended election exercise ever and one of the most well attended community events in recent memory.
In the true spirit of the motto of Dallas; Live Large, Think Big, that describes the essence and vitality of a city built on big dreams, freshly blazed trails and an attitude that all things are possible; the Ugandan Community in the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex has a strong tradition of service to the Ugandan community in the Diaspora and also back at home.
