In 1989, a small group of Ugandan families living in Atlanta, Georgia, came together as a community to celebrate the American holiday of Thanksgiving. The success of this informal social gathering led to the creation of an organization that, over the next 15 years, evolved into the Ugandan North American Association (UNAA). read more»


The Ugandan North American Association - UNAA was formed in 1988 by its founding members with specific objectives outlined. The founders recognized that the organization is comprised of members of that community of persons living in North America who have roots or other ties to Uganda, sharing common social, cultural and economic interests. The founders recognized the desire for members of UNAA to pursue and promoting those interests specified above. The founders therefore outlined the objectives below to guide members of the Association in realizing what was founded in 1988. read more»
