The UNAA LEGAL FUND
UNAA is the largest formal association of Ugandans in the Diaspora. The objectives of the organization are to "Promote the Social, Cultural and Economic Development of the Ugandan Community in North America and beyond." The Ugandan Community in North America and Canada numbers over 120,000 individuals. .
PROTECTING UNAA AND ITS INTERESTS:
The UNAA Executive has set up a UNAA Legal Fund to assist with bills incurred in the process of protecting the organization's integrity using applicable laws. Thanks to former UNAA Board member Nicholas Kalanzi for the suggestion to set up this fund. This suggestion received overwhelming support from various UNAA members and hence its implementation.
Although UNAA has received tremendous support from a lot of communities both abroad and in Uganda, there has been instances where dishonest individuals have tried to hijack the organization and after a number of close calls, the current Executive has decided to set aside resources to protect the organization against such threats.
